Chapter 13 The Birds in the Courtyard

Chapter 13 The Birds in the Courtyard (Part )
Early in the morning, after Liu's mother finished her meal, she knocked on his door and asked him to get up.

"Zhiye, hurry up. Get up and eat. Don't waste time. Your dad still has to go to class~ Hey~"

Liu Zhiye woke up after hearing this, threw off the quilt, and put on his green military uniform swiftly. Then he folded the quilt into a standard tofu block and tidied the bed sheet.

He walked out of the east courtyard gate with the toothbrush holder and towel.

Just after I passed the moon gate, I saw the third uncle Yan Bugui carrying a black leather handbag made in Shanghai, about to go out. The two of them bumped into each other and said hello.

"You got up early, Uncle San! Have you eaten yet?"

"I've eaten~ I've eaten. It's getting late. I have my first class today, so I need to go early."

"What are you doing? You just got up~" The third uncle replied with narrowed eyes.

"Ah~ yes! I drank too much with my dad last night and got up a little late. Look, I haven't washed up yet~" he said, raising the washing utensils in his hand.

"Okay, go ahead and do your work. I'll leave soon too."

"You can drink, so let's wait for you to prepare some good dishes next time. I'll get a bottle of good wine and go to your house so we can have a drink together." The third uncle said.

"That's fine! It's settled. Third uncle, I'll treat you some other day."

"Okay! See you next time~" The third uncle said and left in a hurry.

"See you later!" Liu Zhiye also replied, and then walked towards the central courtyard.

You may ask, why do we have to go to the Central Court so early in the morning?

That's because the only running water in the entire compound is in the central courtyard, so everyone in the compound gets their daily water here. He's going there to wash up now.

Gossip less.

As soon as he stepped onto the hanging flower gate, a black shadow suddenly bumped into him. Then it bounced back with a "bang" and fell to the ground with a bang.

Liu Zhiye took a closer look and was amused. A chubby little boy, about five or six years old, with a melon-shaped haircut and wearing a blue work-woven cloth outfit that was cut smaller than an adult's, was sitting on the ground rubbing his butt.

There was also a young man in his twenties standing in the front yard. He was tall and thin, with his hair parted on the side and a horse face (refer to Teacher Hi Yitian). He was wearing a black Zhongshan suit with a pen stuck in the cloth pocket on his chest. He was pushing a Fei Ge brand bicycle and was about to go out. After seeing the situation, he stopped and watched the excitement.

"Ouch! Ouch! I'm dying from the fall!" the little boy yelled.

Then he glanced at Liu Zhiye, um~ he didn't know this person, so he rolled his eyes and said.

"Who are you? You don't have eyes. You bumped into someone. Do you know that?"

Hearing what the child said, Liu Zhiye also got angry.

"Hey! You little bastard, you are blaming others for something else~"

"Believe it or not, I will beat you up. Whose child are you? Why are you so disrespectful?"

This kid was not a good person either. When he heard that he was going to be beaten, he immediately lay back on the ground.

Shouting loudly: "Grandma, come quickly! Someone is going to beat your grandson~"

"Hey~"

Liu Zhiye was speechless. This kid was obviously trying to blackmail him.

"Whoever dares to hit my grandson, I will fight him~"

At this moment, an old lady in her fifties, wearing a blue work-cloth suit, with a pale face full of fat and a plump figure and bound feet, came out trotting from the central courtyard, shouting as she walked.

When she got closer, she saw her precious grandson rolling on the ground. Then she glanced at the horse-faced young man pushing the cart and said sternly:

"Xu Damao, was it you, a bastard, who beat him? You are such a bad boy, with pus on your head and blood on your feet."

"Why did you hit my grandson?"

Xu Damao, a young man with a horse face, didn't expect that he would get beaten up just for watching the fun.

"Hey, Aunt Jia? Why are you cursing? Which eye did you see me hitting you with?"

"Who else could it be if not you?" He looked at Liu Zhiye suspiciously.

Xu Damao got angry:

"Love whoever you want, it's not me anyway. Isn't Banggeng here? Ask him. You can't just accuse a good person so easily!"

"Bah! You think you are a good person? Just go and take a rest~" Aunt Jia's mouth is really powerful. When she opens her mouth, she behaves like a shrew scolding in the street.

Aunt Jia had no choice but to help her precious grandson up first.

"My eldest grandson, what happened to you? Who hit you? Where did they hit you?"

"Are you okay? Let grandma take a look."

Little boy stick meme:
"Oh my god, it was him. He bumped into me. I argued with him, but he wanted to hit me. Ugh~"

Aunt Jia was so angry when she heard this. She bumped into someone and didn't listen to reason. She even beat him up. Is there any law? Usually, I am the one who doesn't listen to reason, makes trouble and doesn't fight for three points. But today, it's the other way around. When did I let someone bully me? Well, today I will teach you a lesson and let you know why the horse king has three eyes.

When she thought of this, she raised her triangular eyes and started to curse:
"Where did you come from, you little slave?" "You dare to hit my grandson? I will never let you go today!" As he said this, he came forward with his teeth and claws bared to scratch Liu Zhiye's face.

When Liu Zhiye heard her scolding, he was furious. If it wasn’t for the fact that you are an old man, I would slap you to death.

With a sullen face, he blocked her claws and said:

"Auntie, why are you cursing so much? Please be more polite. I didn't hit your grandson. He fell down by himself."

Aunt Jia continued to insist and rushed forward, determined to scratch his face.

"Bah! You are kidding me! You didn't touch my grandson? Then he is alone, hitting himself? You look like a treacherous minister with a white face, talking nonsense, you don't look like a good person~"

Liu Zhiye became furious and subconsciously exerted his strength, using his hands to perform fighting moves. He suddenly pushed Aunt Jia to the ground, leaving her in a helpless position.

This was really funny. Aunt Jia was stunned at first. She didn't expect the young man to really do anything. Then she started to cry and slap the ground, saying:
"Someone come quickly, beat him up! I don't want to live anymore~"

"Old Jia, please open your eyes and come back soon. Someone is bullying me."

At this moment, a square-faced young man with wrinkles, thick curved eyebrows, a bulbous nose, a short flat head, and a burly figure came out from the middle courtyard. He saw what was going on here and came over to join in the fun.

"Hey~ What's wrong? Who was it, Aunt Jia, who threw you to the ground?" Then he looked at Xu Damao.

"Xu Damao, is that you, the thief? Oh, you have become stronger now. You dare to hit the old man and the child? Do you want to practice with me? I will give you a hand."

As he said this, he rolled up his sleeves, intending to go forward and teach him a lesson.

Xu Damao, who was standing by, was furious when he heard this. Everyone really disliked him and wanted to punish him:

"Silly Zhu'er~ Shut up! What the hell are you talking about? You~you~you're making me so mad~" He was shaking with anger.

While they were arguing, several men, women, old and young came over and gathered together, pointing and watching the fun.

One of them was a man in his forties with a stocky build, short hair, bull eyes, a face full of flesh, a circle of green stubble on his mouth, a slicked-back hairstyle, and a blue cloth work suit and safety shoes (the image of Brother Fang).

He separated from the crowd and walked over and shouted loudly:

"What are you guys yelling about so early in the morning?"

"It's you again, old sister-in-law of the Jia family. What are you making a fuss about? And you, Sha Zhuer and Xu Damao, shut up."

"And you guys are making so much noise, what are you doing gathered here?"

He pointed at the people around him, criticized them a few times, and then said:
"Can any of you tell me what happened?"

When she heard the man talking, Jia Zhang quickly crawled over, hugged the man's thigh and shouted:
"Old Liu! You have to take care of things for my mother and me. This wild boy from some unknown place came into our yard and beat up my grandson. I was trying to reason with him, but he beat me up too."

After listening to what Jia Zhang said, Liu Zhiye knew who this person was. He was the second uncle of the Siheyuan, the official-obsessed Liu Haizhong. He liked to exaggerate everything. Well, he must not be given the opportunity to show his ability.

So I took the initiative to say to him:

"Hey, you are the head of this hospital, Mr. Liu, right?"

"Nice to meet you!"

Liu Haizhong heard him being called the "Uncle in Charge" and didn't mention "Second Uncle". He thought it sounded good. He relaxed his expression and replied:

"Yes! I am the manager of this hospital. Who are you?"

Liu Zhiye: "Hello, uncle. My last name is Liu, too. I'm Liu Zhiye. I'm your relative, not a stranger. I'm also a new resident of this courtyard."

"My parents are Liu Jingzhai and Deng Ru who live in the East Courtyard. I just got back from the army. I don't know the neighbors yet. I thought my father would take me to meet everyone tonight. But who would have thought that something like this would happen this morning."

Second uncle Liu Haizhong: "So you are the eldest son of Teacher Liu. I have never seen you before. You have been in the army for more than ten years. I have heard your father talk about you."

"What's the matter, man? What did you do to Jia's sister-in-law?"

Liu Zhiye was speechless and said:
"Uncle Liu, please help me. I was wronged. This is what happened just now ~ this is what happened."

He told Liu Haizhong exactly what had happened.

Liu Haizhong nodded his head. He disliked Jia Zhangshi to begin with, and Liu Zhiye's words were pleasing to the ear. He wanted to establish a good relationship with him, so he wanted to smooth things over for him:
"Oh~ Hearing you say that, I really don't blame you."

Then he said to Jia Zhang:

"Sister-in-law? This guy ran too fast and bumped into someone, causing him to fall down."

"You said it was someone else's fault. It would be fine if you didn't apologize to them, but you turned around and bit them. This is not fair. If it gets out, won't it bring shame to our compound?"

When Jia Zhang heard what Liu Haizhong said, she jumped up from the ground and cursed:

"Liu Haizhong, you are not a good guy either. Who do you think you are?"

"Ah~ Whatever he said is what it is? What I said is fake, bullshit?"

"I'm telling you, there's this little maidservant in Liu Haizhong. If any of you don't give me an explanation today, it won't be over~"
