Chapter 384: Being Trapped and Still Being Able to Run So Far
"Uncle, what did you say?!"
Chen Hui stopped.
Chen Huihong and An Wenjing also stopped talking, and the three of them looked outside the door.
"There seems to be something in the mountain behind. Didn't you hear the roar just now?" Wu Shuisheng said.
Chen Hui shook his head.
Exchanged a surprised look with An Wenjing.
An Wenjing was very tacit. She ran into the room, got the gun and handed it to him.
"Not a single sound, and it was gone in an instant."
"I was walking up the slope and wanted to get a good look at the wall behind me, so I heard it."
"Hurry up and go up and take a look." Wu Shuisheng urged.
Chen Hui rubbed his hands on his clothes, took the gun, put it on his back, and walked up through the back door of Wu Jinhua's house.
An Wenjing took a large backpack and went out to follow.
Just as Chen Huihong was about to follow, she was stopped by Wu Shuisheng.
"Let's not go. We can't help even if we go."
"The construction site is full of people now. If he is really caught, with so many people going together, it will be hard for them not to notice him!" said Wu Shuisheng.
"Ah, but!"
"What kind of wild beast is it? Chen Hui said it was quite big. Will he be in danger?" Chen Huihong asked worriedly.
"How dangerous can he be with a gun? You should worry about your prey."
"Okay, you stay at home and cook, I'll go take care of the construction site."
"If you're lucky, you'll have big fish in the afternoon and big meat in the evening."
Wu Shuisheng said this and went back to the construction site happily to supervise the work.
Chen Hui rushed to the back mountain with a gun, but did not see any prey.
He didn't rush to chase, but first observed the traps and traps set last time.
The trap was not triggered and one of the traps was missing.
"Brother Chen Hui, eh? Did he run away?" An Wenjing caught up and asked.
"He ran away, but we should be able to catch up."
"Follow me from a distance, don't get too close. If you lose me, go back first."
Chen Hui sensed it.
The frightened prey caught in the trap was moving away from him at a speed that allowed it to escape.
He didn't have time to fool An Wenjing anymore.
He gave hurried instructions and followed the feeling up the mountain.
"Hey, Brother Chen Hui!" An Wenjing shouted, and followed Chen Hui in big strides.
Chen Hui ran up the mountain for a long time and gradually felt that the prey was slowing down.
Moreover, the prey kept running into the woods and did not run in the direction where the villagers were farming.
It won't become someone else's target, and you don't have to worry about it hurting anyone.
He also stopped to catch his breath and looked back.
I saw An Wenjing carrying a large backpack, not too far away from me.
He shouted at the top of his voice: "Wife! It's crooked! It's in the direction of ten o'clock!"
"Ah?! Ten o'clock"
An Wenjing stopped and gestured in the air with her fingers, trying to figure out which direction ten o'clock was.
Seeing his confused look, Chen Hui smiled knowingly.
“My wife is so cute!”
Chen Hui sighed, turned around and chased for another ten minutes.
I saw the reward of this trip, a big porcupine!
“It’s this?”
Chen Hui was a little surprised.
Come to think of it, what An Wenjing said is not wrong.
It is indeed a big one, and from a distance it does have gray and white fur.
When the porcupine saw Chen Hui, he got up and ran away excitedly.
It didn't run far before it fell to the ground again. Chen Hui approached carefully, observing the prey.
One of its hind legs was caught in a trap, and it dragged the trap for a long distance along the mountain road. It looked like its injury was quite serious.
I don't know what hit my head.
There was an obvious wound that was still bleeding.
Even if he hadn't stepped on the trap and been stewed, the wound would have made him a meal for other animals in the forest.
"Hey, little brother, I think you're going to die soon, why don't you go to my house and take a hot spring bath?"
Chen Hui extended a sincere invitation.
The porcupine roared, and Chen Hui interpreted it as acceptance.
"Brother Chen Hui, why are you playing with your prey again?" An Wenjing hurried over and said while panting.
"Again?!" Chen Hui was puzzled.
"My uncle said you were in the sea, using your thighs to lure big fish."
"Now you are here with this... What is this thing!?" An Wenjing asked.
"This is called a porcupine. Have you ever seen one?"
An Wenjing shook her head and continued with what she had just said:
"You're seducing big fish in the sea, chatting with porcupines here, and you were talking to that little muntjac last time we caught him!"
"Brother Chen Hui, can you understand what animals say?"
Chen Hui shook his head, "No!"
"Then what did you tell them? How did they develop such a weird habit?"
An Wenjing looked at Chen Hui in confusion.
"When my parents were not around, I would talk to the rats and cockroaches at home whenever I had something on my mind."
"Over time, I don't know when I developed the habit of not talking to people but speaking human language to animals."
Chen Hui smiled and said in a calm tone.
"Brother Chen Hui"
An Wenjing felt heartbroken when she got the answer.
Although I have lost my father, at least I still have my mother and sister.
Chen Hui really was left alone all of a sudden.
Even though his aunt and uncle were very nice to him, most of the time he preferred to live alone in his home in Chenjia Village.
"Don't make that expression."
"You are my wife now. I don't want to make up lies to deceive you. If you continue like this, I will just make up lies in the future."
Chen Hui walked up to An Wenjing and rubbed her head, saying with a smile.
"You dare!" An Wenjing threatened with her hands on her hips.
Chen Hui thought it was so cute and kissed her on her pink little lips.
The fallen porcupine suddenly let out a roar and ran forward a few meters, scaring both Chen Hui and An Wenjing.
"Oh, I was so scared. I thought it was coming towards me." An Wenjing said, stroking his chest.
"Really? You're almost dead, so what's wrong with seeing the beauty of the world?"
As Chen Hui spoke, he loaded his gun and pointed it at the porcupine on the ground.
"Brother Chen Hui, please move closer. It's a waste of bullets if you can't hit the target from such a distance."
"I just wanted to see if my recent training was effective, so I stood so far away."
An Wenjing giggled when she heard this.
"It's not recent at all. It's only been two and a half days. Yesterday you went out to sea, and I went to Uncle Guo Biao to explain the situation. He was so angry that his nose was crooked."
Chen Hui also smiled and loosened his fingers.
The porcupine let out a howl that was louder than any of the previous ones, and soon died down.
"Wow! I hit it! Brother Chen Hui, you are so awesome!" An Wenjing jumped up excitedly.
Chen Hui went to take a look and said disappointedly, "What's wrong is that the head actually hit the body, and the prey was motionless."
"Just practice more. There's a big difference between using a gun and a slingshot."
An Wenjing comforted Chen Hui with a smile, took off the big basket on her back and demonstrated it to him.
He said happily: "It can fit. It's worth it that I brought the biggest one!"
