Chapter 108 Leisure Day

Chapter 108 Leisure Day
He returned to the house from outside the palace, took off his Taoist robe and put on casual clothes.

Since being accepted as a direct disciple by the Taoist master, Li Daoxuan has also had his own place to live in Baiyun Temple.

The room is divided into two parts, inside and outside.

The inner room was where he slept, and the outer room was a spacious hall.

In the center of the hall, facing the door, there is a picture of the Three Pure Ones, with two statues of gods standing on each side. In front of the altar under the hanging pictures is an incense burner and a tray with tribute fruits, and three sticks of sandalwood are burning slowly.

In the corner of the hall, there is a large bronze incense burner. Fragrant wood is lit inside, which drives away the cold air and odor in the room, leaving only a faint scent of fragrant wood.

Li Daoxuan put on his casual clothes and sat on the couch. He took out the copper coin and put it in his palm. He sat cross-legged, closed his eyes and thought quietly. He felt a golden light flashing on the copper coin in his hand, and it went into the Niwan Palace between his eyebrows.

The golden light was different from the golden light in Li Daoxuan's Niwan Palace, and its color was darker yellow. This golden light entered along the Niwan Palace and finally landed in the bridal chamber.

"It can be considered that I have gained some merit." Li Daoxuan looked at the golden light in the bridal chamber and felt quite happy.

This merit was something new that he discovered after opening the bridal chamber. He vaguely knew that it was called merit. What is merit? It is something gained from helping people solve their doubts and escape from difficulties. Most people who have merit are kind people. Li Daoxuan just had his fortune told by Qian Huo, and when he wrote his name, there was a flash of yellow light, which meant that this person had done many good deeds in his life.

If a red light flashes when writing a name, it means that this person does not do good deeds and often does evil. Li Daoxuan will not answer questions for such people, as he knows that he cannot save all living beings and love the world.

What he took from Qian Huo were all the merits of Qian Huo. As for taking a copper coin, it was just to use it as a medium to entrust the merits to it. After all, copper coins also have the function of magic tools in Taoism.

In the myth of Conferred Gods, there is a magic weapon called Luobao Jinqian.

As for what this merit was for, Li Daoxuan was not sure yet. He could only feel that this merit was gathered in the bridal chamber, making him feel a little more energetic.

"Perhaps there are other magical powers, but I haven't discovered them yet." Without thinking about this, after absorbing the merits in the copper coin, he put the copper coin into the round tripod. With daily incense and quenching, it will surely become a magical instrument after a long time.

Afterwards, Li Daoxuan picked up a book and looked at it. It said "Lingshu Jing".

This book is an important work of doctors, also known as "Nine Needles". It describes how to regulate qi with the five elements and open up the eight extraordinary meridians. It is a book often read in Taoism.

Since he began to learn Taoism from the old Taoist priest, he has read many more books than before.

First, I learned the "Qingwei Dan Jue", and then the classics of various schools, such as the Thunder Method of the Shenxiao School, the Three Caves Sutra, etc. Then I learned the "Book of Changes" and became familiar with the Five Elements, Eight Trigrams, and Nine Palaces. Then I practiced the altar and learned the high-level skills, and I had to practice hard every day.

With some martial arts skills, Li Daoxuan's only free time is after his afternoon classes.

These days, he has been using the Yin-Yang fish to tell fortunes for others and earn some merits. Therefore, he has not been able to enter the illusion to study with Uncle Jiu and Yan Chixia.

Fortunately, he has now formed a habit of getting up early every day to practice sword. His body is getting stronger day by day and he is growing taller.

I don’t know if it’s his illusion, but Li Daoxuan always feels that he is growing a little slowly.

"Could it be because I'm lacking nutrition from practicing Taoism? Or not eating enough meat?" Li Daoxuan questioned himself.

Sit upright in a chair and read a book, while circulating the Qi throughout the body.

The so-called Zhoutian refers to the Ren and Du meridians that surround the center of the human body. The circulation of Qi along these two meridians is called the small Zhoutian.

After Li Daoxuan opened the Niwan Palace and obtained the Dantian Qi, he thought he needed to open the acupoints, just like in martial arts novels, where every time an acupoint was opened, his martial arts skills would be improved.

Later, after being taught by the Taoist master, I realized that I was thinking too much.

Acupoints and meridians are closely related to the human body. If there are problems with them, the body will have various adverse reactions. If all the acupoints need to be opened, then wouldn’t that mean the whole body is problematic?
Therefore, the rumored acupuncture points are to open the blocked acupuncture points of some people after birth, not all acupuncture points. As for the benefits of acupuncture points, it is naturally to circulate qi and blood, better dredge the acquired turbid qi in the meridians, and make people healthier. Just like human blood vessels, only when blood flows normally can the body be strong and healthy. If the blood vessels are blocked all the way, the person will be seriously ill.

Therefore, when practicing qigong, one is cultivating the smooth flow of Qi, accelerating the body's metabolism, and allowing the human body to reach a natural state.

If one can make the Qi in Dantian circulate continuously throughout the body, one can achieve the state of being one with Heaven and Earth. This is what Taoism calls the state of refining essence into Qi, and refining Qi into spirit.

If one reaches this state, he will live a long life, and can still walk briskly even at the age of 100. He can live year after year by sleeping in the open air and drinking mountain water. This state is called Xiantian in the Xuanmen.

The innate ones are born by eating the five elements and move by controlling the six winds. Even if they are a hundred years old, their hair will remain black and they will not suffer from any disease.

This state is what everyone in the world yearns for, but only a few can reach it.

It is said that Peng Zu, who lived to be 800 years old, was a Xiantian. It is also said that Zhang Sanfeng, the founder of Wudang Mountain, was also a Xiantian. But how much of it is true, perhaps only people at that time know.

Li Daoxuan was naturally far from this stage. Although he had abundant Dan Qi in his body, he was only hovering at the stage of self-cultivation and foundation-building. When he could refine Yuan Jing and Yuan Qi together and transform them into light, clear and immaterial Jing Qi, he could be considered to have entered the stage of refining essence into Qi.

Now it is far from being as good as before, and can only let the Dantian generate essence and qi on its own. This is also the pros and cons of opening the Niwan Palace. The good thing is that there is no need to work hard for more than ten years to refine essence and transform qi, and the bad thing is that he thinks that if he reaches the stage of refining essence and transforming qi, he will have to face other troubles.

But ordinary practitioners don’t understand. In their opinion, Li Daoxuan has obtained a great opportunity. Of course, if such a good thing were to be known to others, I’m afraid everyone in the Xuanmen would be jealous.

After all, other people have worked hard to sit in meditation and practice for more than ten or even decades before they can combine their essence, energy and spirit to refine a wisp of energy. But you just sit still, and the blessing of your dantian in the Niwan Palace can also produce a lot of essence and energy. No one can stand such grievances.

Of course, Li Daoxuan didn't know how much hatred he had caused. Now that he was exposed, he would never be able to calm down.

After he read for a while, Li Yanming came in with the food.

"Young Master, it's time to eat." Li Yanming put the food on the table and called with a smile.

He used the hot water from the stove to scald the dishes and chopsticks, and then placed them on the table. After everything was arranged, he put the serving basket aside. Then he sat on a chair and picked up a book to read with relish.

Li Daoxuan smelled the fragrance, looked at Li Yanming and said, "Ming boy, have you eaten?"

"I ate the young master." Li Yanming put down the book and looked up and answered.

"How's your literacy going lately?"

"I can write all the characters that Master taught me, and I am learning new characters now." Li Yanming said with a smile. "If Master hadn't taught me, I don't know how many characters I could recognize. Master's unique spelling method is really useful, I can read a lot of characters."

"Of course." Li Daoxuan nodded with satisfaction. "You must not pass on this unique skill to others, otherwise it will cause big trouble."

"I understand, Master." Li Yanming answered seriously. "By the way, when I came here, the abbot asked me to bring you a message, saying that I should go to his room after Master finishes his meal."

"Is there something wrong?" Li Daoxuan asked curiously.

"I don't know." Li Yanming shook his head.

Li Daoxuan picked up the chopsticks, picked up the food and ate it, then nodded thoughtfully.

"I see."
