Chapter 19: The First Mission from the Winery
After listening to Conan's explanation, Dr. Agasa completely understood.
"You mean that the 'detective' named Tanigawa discovered that you created 'Sleeping Kogoro' and is likely to discover your identity?"
"That's it." Conan nodded.
"I want to find Tanigawa. If he leaks the information, not only us but also Tanigawa might be killed by the people of that organization."
"Where does Tanigawa live?" asked Dr. Agasa.
Conan was stunned. He seemed to not know Tanigawa's home address.
"I don't know, but I know he recently bought an art gallery, so he might be there now."
……
Leaving Ai alone at home, Tanigawa came to the bar.
Damn Gin, he always let this good boy come to the bar. It just so happened that his strength has greatly increased, and he is eager to compete with Gin.
"()Hi! Long time no see."
Tanigawa hugged Vodka's shoulders enthusiastically, which made Vodka stunned.
They have only met once, and they didn't get along well with each other last time they met, so why are you so enthusiastic?
"Ah."
Don't hit someone who smiles at you. Vodka also nodded to Tanigawa as a greeting.
"What do you want from me, brother?"
Tanigawa sat in Vodka, glanced at Gin, then stretched out his hand to call the bartender.
"I like strong liquor, pour me a glass of gin."
The bartender ignored Tanigawa and looked at Gin.
"Children should not drink alcohol."
After hearing what Gin said, the bartender left tactfully.
Tanigawa took out the vodka lighter and lit it up nonchalantly.
Chianti, Cohen and Calvados looked at Tanigawa curiously. This member of the organization seemed to be very familiar with Gin and Vodka. Could he be a cadre from other regions?
"How's the task assigned to you going?"
“There has been tremendous effort, but there has been zero progress,” Tanigawa said.
"Heh." Gin sneered.
He had investigated Tanigawa's behavior in the United States and knew that he was a problem child who refused to obey discipline. However, there was no shortage of these problem children in the organization.
"You didn't do the mission at all?"
Gin took out a cigarette and put it in his mouth, Tanigawa came close to him like a lackey and lit the cigarette. Gin was stunned for a moment, but still blocked the fire with his hand.
When Vodka saw Tanigawa's expression, alarm bells started ringing in his heart.
I didn't expect that Tanigawa, who was so rebellious at the beginning, would actually do such a thing. He was so attentive to Boss Gin, could he be trying to take away his identity as a driver?
Damn it! I should have been alert when he came in and called Gin "Brother".
and many more!
Why does the lighter in Tanigawa's hand look so familiar?
"How could that be? I've been caught by the police and taken to the police station several times for driving around Tokyo to look for people." Tanigawa felt very wronged.
Gin didn't believe this guy's nonsense.
The organization has an undercover agent in the police station and knows that Tanigawa was taken to the police station because of speeding.
Speaking of which, although Tanigawa has only been in the organization for a short time, apart from those undercover agents stationed in the police station, he should be the member of the organization who goes in and out of the police station the most.
"You don't have to worry about Shirley's affairs." Gin said.
"Why? I can find someone soon." Tanigawa said unexpectedly.
Gin exhaled a puff of smoke and glanced at Tanigawa indifferently.
"After so much time has passed, there is no point in looking for Shirley anymore."
If she wanted to escape, she might have left Japan by now. Although the organization is powerful, searching for someone all over the world is like looking for a needle in a haystack.
"You have a new mission."
"I don't want to go." Tanigawa refused decisively.
Gin looked at him in surprise. He didn't expect Tanigawa to refuse so decisively. Seeing Tanigawa's eagerness to try, Gin's eyes flashed with doubt. "The organization doesn't support useless people."
"The organization has never paid me a salary." Tanigawa said dissatisfiedly.
"Give Vodka your bank card number, and the organization will give you funding every month."
Tanigawa was in a good mood as he could get a salary for free.
"What mission?" asked Tanigawa.
"The organization has a transaction and needs your company." Gin said.
"Do I need to personally take care of such a small matter?" Tanigawa played with his lighter.
Gin looked at him without saying anything, then stood up and left.
"Keep up." Vodka patted Tanigawa's shoulder.
Tanigawa followed Gin happily. Chianti frowned at Tanigawa's back, then walked to Vodka and asked in a low voice.
"Vodka, what is that person's code name? Is he a cadre from other regions of the organization?"
"You are talking about Tanigawa, he is just a peripheral member." Vodka said with a little contempt, pressing down the brim of his hat and feeling proud of his identity as a code member.
"He's just a peripheral member?" Chianti said in disbelief.
The way he acted just now didn't seem like that of a peripheral member, and he made so many "offensive" actions towards Gin, but Gin turned a blind eye to it?
Weird, very weird.
Arriving at the transaction location, Cohen and the other two set up sniper rifles in the distance. Tanigawa and Vodka, two bag-carrying boys, followed Gin and met the man who had made the transaction with the organization.
"Where's the money?" Vodka asked.
"At this."
A man dressed in black opened the suitcase, revealing wads of money.
Gin glanced at Tanigawa, and Tanigawa understood and went forward to pick up the box.
"and many more."
The man suddenly spoke.
Gin's face turned cold, he took out a gun from his pocket, and suddenly glared at Tanigawa fiercely.
Tanigawa respectfully handed the gun in his pocket to Gin, and then stayed quietly behind Gin.
Gin was too lazy to teach Tanigawa a lesson at this time, and pointed a gun at the man who had made a deal with the organization.
"Don't be nervous, I just have a question for you." said the man in black.
"Speak." Gin was very frugal with his words.
"I know your organization is very powerful in Japan. Can you help me kill someone? The price is negotiable." said the man in black.
"Oh, we are not..."
"Ring, ring, ring~"
"Sorry, I have to take a call." Tanigawa took out his cell phone with an embarrassed look on his face.
Gin looked at him coldly and put the gun to his head.
"Whose phone number?"
"My sister."
"You don't have a sister." Gin looked unfriendly.
Tanigawa's background was investigated thoroughly, and it was hard to tell how he, an only child, could have a younger sister.
"Sister."
"Oh, if you dare to answer, I will kill your 'sister'."
Gin felt that he had given Tanigawa too many good looks, and he even dared to answer the phone while on a mission. He had no awe in his heart.
"Wait a minute." Tanigawa quickly hung up the phone, giving Gin enough face in front of outsiders.
2-20, Yoneka-cho, Tokyo.
Xiao Ai was in a bad mood when she heard the busy tone on the phone.
"What are you doing? Why aren't you going home so late at night?" Xiao Ai paced back and forth in the room, feeling very annoyed.
