Chapter 296: The calamity ends and the light shines, the night ends and the day dawns

Chapter 296: The calamity ends and the light shines, the night ends and the day dawns
Gu Qingyuan talked with the old monk for a long time, and both the host and the guests enjoyed themselves very much.

"Donor Gu is very talented. I believe he will be able to ascend to the immortal world soon and will not be trapped in this mortal world anymore." said the old monk.

"Master Longshu is wrong. The fairyland is good, but the mortal world also has its charms. I still want to roll around in this mortal world. I think the fairyland is just another cage. I will be trapped no matter where I go," said Gu Qingyuan.

According to the information provided by the Buddha Head, after the earliest batch of Yin immortals ascended to heaven, in order to prevent the spiritual energy of the immortal world from flowing back into the mortal world, and also to prevent the old gods from disturbing the world, they sealed off the immortals and mortals and divided the world into two.

Unfortunately, there are not only immortals in the world, but also old gods, one is crazy, and the other is insane. As more and more people become immortals and fight for the authority of the old gods, the fight between immortals and gods becomes more and more intense and endless. Only a few powerful immortals and gods remain firmly on the throne.

It's unknown who tampered with the seal between the two worlds, and it became increasingly solid. The old gods, the Yin Immortals, who could come and go freely between the immortal and mortal worlds, could only descend through their believers, thus trapping these evildoers in a cage called the immortal world.

However, tens of millions of years have passed, and many of the inherited books have been lost. The mortal world does not know the details and has beautified the fairyland. Practitioners have been able to understand the essence of the fairyland based on the strange phenomena they see when worshipping the immortals, but the internal causes are not so clear.

“The orthodox Dharma is not the illegal Dharma. The immortals and Buddhas we worship are not pure and upright at all. Every one of them is a false Buddha and a false immortal. But if we don’t practice, how can we subdue the weirdness in this world?” said the old monk Longshu.

At this moment, Jialuo came in holding the tea set. As soon as she entered the room, she did nothing else but took a few deep breaths.

"My junior brother practices the view of flesh and blood. His body of flesh and blood is as big as a mountain, but his skeleton is as fragile as rotten grass. Every few steps he takes, his bones crack and his tendons break. The pain is unspeakable. If it weren't for his cultivation, his tendons and bones would heal instantly. I'm afraid he would become a pool of rotten meat." Longshu explained.

Jialuo didn't care. She smiled at Gu Qingyuan, took a breath, and then picked up the pot to pour tea.

Longshu sighed again and pointed at himself: "As for this old monk's bone contemplation, the blood and qi have dried up, leaving only bones. Now the leg bones are mixed together and turned into bone plates. Bones contemplation, bones contemplation, how can there be bones that can walk on their own? Soon, Mr. Gu will be able to see the Immovable Arhat who has achieved the golden body of bones."

He was a little self-deprecating, and Gu Qingyuan also understood what he meant. As his cultivation became deeper and deeper, by then, the bone view would gradually become perfect and would only turn into motionless human-shaped bones. Only becoming a Yin Immortal could resolve it.

“As for this contemplation of impurity…”

Longshu said, "Donor Gu, please follow me."

Jialuo lifted Longshu up and walked with Gu Qingyuan, stopping and starting, until they came to the backyard. Before they opened the door, a foul smell came out.

Nagarjuna was unaware and pushed open the door. Inside, flies and insects were flying around, rotten meat and filth were piled up, and women were slumped in the filth.

"These women were originally villagers from the villages outside the temple. They happened to encounter the appearance of a great monster. Their bodies were contaminated by the monster and became alienated. If left alone, they would turn into monsters. I had no choice but to set up a dirty burial formation to cleanse their bodies with filth and help them maintain their human form."

Gu Qingyuan looked at those women. Although they were all frightened and sad, they gritted their teeth and collapsed in the filth, allowing their bodies to be smeared. The stench filled the room, and they would complain from time to time. Presumably, the woman's screams before also came from here.

"These are the people who still have living thoughts in their hearts. Those who are not tenacious..." Nagarjuna shook his head and said nothing. Those who did not want to become ghosts or be contaminated have naturally gone to paradise. However, in this world, what died was only the consciousness of mortals. Various strange creatures would be derived from the dead bodies and continue the cycle of reincarnation.

Nagarjuna silently chanted the Buddha's name, and the doors of other houses opened one after another, revealing a horrific sight inside.

In one of the rooms, there was a naked goddess statue, naked monks, masculine men doing seductive poses, moaning, circling around the goddess statue, their white flesh twisting. However, these monks were neither male nor female, half male and half female, yin and yang, heavenly, and although they committed adultery, they widely chanted the Buddha's name, with a holy and peaceful look on their faces.

As for the other few, each one is absurd and extremely weird.

"I," Longshu pointed at himself, "I was originally a hunter. One day when I returned home, my wife, children, and all the village elders were devoured by ghosts. If the previous abbot of Guandao Temple had not passed by, I would have been nothing more than a ghost in this world."

He pointed at Jialuo and said, "My fellow apprentice Jialuo was originally wealthy and had no worries about food and drink. But he was captured by the big trick and kept in a place with a group of people for seven days and seven nights without rice or water. When my master and I rescued him from that place, he was the only one left out of the twenty-three people."

Nagarjuna's finger turned into a guest room in the backyard: "In these rooms, there are people who haven't lived enough and still want to live. Those who don't want to live have long since turned a blind eye and passed away to paradise."

“This world has gone wrong. It makes those who love cleanliness filthy, makes those who are masculine extremely feminine, makes those who are rich starve to death, makes those who are fulfilled become lonely ghosts, and makes those who want to live live a life worse than death.”

There was no ferocity on Longshu's face, only indifference. His face, which was without flesh and blood but only dry bones, could no longer show any expression.

"We just want to live, what's wrong with that? Unfortunately, in this upside-down, weird world, wanting to live is already the biggest mistake."

He clapped his hands, and with the recoil force, his body rose up, and he prostrated himself. His leg bones, which were straight and unable to bend, creaked in an audible sound that made his teeth ache.

"I dare to say that I have seen the divine power of the Immortal. The Immortal did not have any strange visions when he saw the Buddha statue, did not feel strange when he heard the immortal's name, and did not feel any fluctuations when he heard the Three Laws. He must have great merits and great cultivation."

He rested his head on the ground and muttered to himself, "Also, the Buddhist chanting that had been haunting my ears all the time has stopped. Now my ears are quiet and I can no longer hear the Buddha's voice. Since I started practicing, my ears have not been so quiet for a long time. Although I don't know what happened in the temple, there must have been some twists and turns."

"I can no longer sense my Buddha!"

Nagarjuna said with tears in his eyes, praying to Buddha is like praying to a cunning person, naturally there is a price to pay, and this price is extremely huge, but at the critical moment of life and death, how can we not pray? How can mortals have the power to choose? If there is a choice, who is willing to entrust everything to that cunning Buddha.

“I don’t ask for peace of mind for myself, nor do I ask for a high level of cultivation. I don’t ask for a cleansing of all sins. I only ask for mercy from the real person, to save the mortals in this courtyard, and to save the people who are sinking in the sea of suffering.” Long Shu rested his head on the ground, and his skeletal body moved back and forth, as ridiculous as a tumbler.

But Gu Qingyuan did not smile. The Cangjie Staff appeared in his hand, and countless white lights illuminated the sky.

All kinds of suffering are destined to happen, but how can the world have an endless sea of calamity that cannot be escaped? Only by experiencing the calamity can one achieve the right result.

His great path of disasters and calamities is not aimed at disasters, calamities, or destruction, but at surviving the calamity, that grace, that gift, that ray of brilliance after overcoming the calamity, and becoming a great path after experiencing countless calamities. This is Gu Qingyuan's path.

Then, under the shining of the white light, some monks were liberated and became compassionate; some celestial maidens cleansed themselves and became pure; some white bones grew flesh and became Buddhas; when the kalpa was over, radiant light was born, and there were countless sentient beings.

Then, where the bright light passed, the night ended and dawn turned into day.
