Chapter 37 Going deep into the tiger’s den
The mountains are covered with lush vegetation, steep rocks, and dead graves everywhere. Under the leadership of the monster Quan Xing, Jiang Mo goes to the cave where Liu Po is.
Climb the rolling mountains, travel between ridges, and leave your footprints.
We arrived at a secluded valley, surrounded by mountains and rivers, where birds and animals appeared from time to time.
Looking at the cave entrance hidden by a huge rock not far away, Quan Xing Yaoren's face turned pale and he explained in panic:
"Master, Master, I didn't lie to you!!"
"That's where Granny Liu lives!!"
Lu Jin looked at the mountains of rocks in the distance. Each rock was so huge and heavy that he could not imagine it. He raised his eyebrows and said:
"Uncle Master, I'm afraid this old lady Liu has noticed us."
"Also, there must be a secret passage in the cave, which she escaped from in advance."
"It's okay, go in and take a look."
Jiang Mo pressed the demon over, raised one hand, and the true magic flowed.
The moment it came into contact with the rock, the hard structure instantly disintegrated and turned into grains of gray sand that spread everywhere.
"Boom!!!"
As the Qi light overflowing from Jiang Mo's palm became more and more dense, dozens of huge rocks shattered with the snap of a finger, like sand castles in the water, unable to condense.
The demon on the side had already been stunned. He felt a chill on his back and wanted to escape at any time, but his feet were out of control and he was always tripped by fear.
Feeling Lu Jin's vague glance, the demon didn't dare to take the risk.
The gray sand flowed turbulently, and a collapsed, winding mountain road was barely cleared.
"Walk."
Jiang Mo was the first to step into the cave, followed by the monster, and Lu Jin was in charge of guarding.
The entire cave is extremely tall and wide, with ferocious stone carvings of gods and demons imprinted on the steep and rugged rock walls.
A stone platform covered with straw is located in the center of the cave. On the dark ground around it, there is a wooden sign broken into two pieces, with faint faded and blurred words faintly visible.
"Yuan Jingui"
"Li Buzuo"
"Agutong"
"Han Ming."
Lu Jin picked up a few pieces from the densely packed wooden signs and tried to read out the names.
"."
As an elite man of the entire force, he couldn't help but tremble in his heart every time he heard a familiar name. Wooden signs could be seen everywhere, and in his prediction, the casualties would be at least over a hundred.
Jiang Mo raised his head and stared at the statues deeply embedded in the stone walls. They were lifelike, and their every move exuded an aura of ominousness and tyranny.
"What's up with these wooden signs?"
Lu Jin held the sword against the demon's throat and spoke in a sharp tone.
Feeling his skin being cut and blood oozing out, the demon dared not to be perfunctory and told the truth: "It was Granny Liu's trick."
"She takes our blood, adds medicinal herbs, and carves symbols on it. Through her abilities, she can create a dream world."
"Whenever we are sleeping or meditating, she can contact us."
"She sits cross-legged on the stone platform all year round. No matter how far away we are, as long as we enter a state of tranquility and meditation, we can communicate with her in our dreams."
Lu Jin showed doubt on his face. Even though they were incompatible, he was still amazed by this incredible ability.
"Do you know where the secret door is?"
"I don't know."
The demon shook his head, his tone slightly fearful: "Without Liu Pozi's permission, ordinary people are not qualified to come in, otherwise they will be wiped out by the stone statues of mountain gods carved above."
"Mountain God?"
Lu Jin turned around and asked, "Uncle Master, did you find anything over there?"
Jiang Mo gradually withdrew his gaze from the top of the cave, and instead stretched out his hand to press against the cold rock wall. A thin blue-gray Qi overflowed, then merged into the wall and continued to spread.
After a while, he went and came back. Jiang Mo walked along the edge of the wall, feeling around, and pressed a hidden switch.
"Boom!!!"
A stone door slowly opened, and the stench of decay filled the air.
"Ahem! What the hell is this?" The monster closest to him was choking so hard that tears were about to flow.
What appeared before their eyes was a narrow pharmacy with dim lights.
There was a huge medicine jar stored inside. The soup was dark and sticky, with green bubbles floating up from time to time. You could even vaguely see a mutilated corpse soaking in it.
"Uncle Master, do you have any idea about these things?"
Jiang Mo stared at the remains beside the jar, which looked like gauze paper, withered and ugly, and thought:
"I don't know, but it could be a medicine that can repair injuries or increase physical strength."
"According to the current situation, these potions have most likely been used and are worthless."
Afterwards, Jiang Mo exited the secret room, closed it, and opened a new mechanism. A dark passage appeared in the crack in the corner with the shaking of the stone wall.
Fluorescent lights flickered one after another, and various ancient murals were engraved on both sides of the passage, which were completely different from the architectural style of Middle-earth.
"Go in." Jiang Mo ordered the monster to lead the way.
"Master... No... I have other uses... Please spare me!!"
The demon smelled danger and begged for mercy, not daring to go in.
The floor tiles covered with a layer of dark green moss made him shudder.
Thinking of the methods that Mrs. Liu usually used, such as using poison to control people and eating flesh and cutting bones, even if he had a hundred courage, he would not dare to trespass into the forbidden area of the old vicious woman.
Seeing that he was nagging, Jiang Mo gathered his Qi into a rope, tied him up and threw him in.
"boom!"
A dull sound of landing was heard, and the dark green moss seemed to come alive, constantly wriggling and touching the monster's skin.
"what!!!"
Almost instantly, his body underwent serious changes, as if it had rotted. As his skin dissolved, his facial features twisted, his six senses were lost, and even corpse spots gradually appeared all over his body.
The tragic roar continued to weaken, and in less than ten seconds, the original demon was completely transformed into a monster that was neither human nor ghost.
The original clothes became loose and did not match the skinny and withered body.
He lowered his head, breathing tiredly, his eyes were bloodshot, and smelly saliva dripped from the corners of his rotten mouth. He looked like a hungry ghost.
"Uncle Master, there is such a strong corpse aura."
Lu Jin felt it was tricky, as the dark green moss that covered the entire passage was endless and formed an absolutely dangerous restricted area.
"There's something wrong with this monster. It doesn't look like a living thing, nor does it look like a dead person."
Red-gold traces appeared in Jiang Mo's eyes. In his field of vision, he could see the body of the monster in front of him. Its innate Qi had already dissipated, but countless tiny Qi balls were controlling its limbs and veins like silk threads, and were frantically devouring the vitality in its body.
"Be careful."
"Those mosses force the monster to parasitize."
"The guys in front of us now are not demons with their own consciousness, but mosses that have taken over the demons' bodies."
Hearing this, Lu Jin felt as if he had fallen into an icy cave. This was the first time he had witnessed such a strange incident since he started practicing.
"Is there any way to deal with it?"
"Mrs. Liu probably used this evil thing to cover her retreat and took the opportunity to escape."
"Roar!!!"
At this moment, the demon guarding the passage roared like a wild beast, and a light red aura emanated from his body, looking extremely ferocious.
Its eyes locked onto Jiang Mo and Lu Jin, and it pounced on them like a hunter.
