Chapter 288: Three monks have no water to drink, a small story reflects the great truth of management team
Yao Guangxiao did not immediately respond to the questions raised by Zhao Wei, the head of the Zhao family, but instead vividly told a short story with profound meaning.
“Looking back to the past, there was once a towering mountain, and on the top of the mountain there was a simple and quiet little temple.
One day, this quiet temple welcomed a young and innocent little monk.
From then on, the little monk worked tirelessly every day carrying heavy buckets of water and walking back and forth on the mountain trails.
He recited the scriptures devoutly, and the clear and pleasant sound of his recitation echoed throughout the valley.
The little monk would tap the wooden fish from time to time, and the fish exuded a faint scent of sandalwood, as if he was telling his inner wishes to heaven and earth.
In addition to these daily tasks, this kind and diligent little monk always takes good care of the vase on the Bodhisattva's desk, ensuring that the water in the vase is full and overflowing.
Whenever night falls and everything is quiet, the little monk always guards the temple vigilantly.
Never allow those cunning mice to steal the offerings.
In this way, the little monk's life was ordinary, but also stable, comfortable and worry-free.
After a while, a thin monk appeared in the temple.
When the new thin monk first arrived, he drank half of the water tank without any hesitation.
Seeing that the water jar was empty, the young monk hurriedly urged the thin monk to fetch water.
At first the thin monk was obedient and obediently picked up the shoulder pole and went down the mountain to fetch water.
However, as time went by, when he saw the little monk leisurely and doing nothing in the temple, he couldn't help feeling a little dissatisfied.
The thin monk thought it was too hard and unfair for him to fetch water from the mountain alone!
So he came up with an idea and asked the young monk to go with him to fetch water.
In this way, the two of them had to work together to lift an extremely large wooden barrel.
Only when the wooden barrel is placed in the center of the carrying pole can they feel a little more at ease and balanced.
Despite this, this barely maintained form of cooperation has made the originally clear and sweet well water increasingly scarce and precious.
At the same time, the originally pure and harmonious relationship between the little monk and the thin monk was gradually overshadowed, and the gap between them became increasingly deeper.
Later, another fat monk came to the temple.
The fat monk was also very thirsty and wanted to drink some water to quench his thirst.
However, when he looked into the water tank, he found it was empty, without a drop of water left.
Seeing this, the little monk and the thin monk said to the fat monk in unison: "Since you also want to drink water, then go fetch some water yourself!"
What was unexpected was that although the fat monk carried back a load of water, he selfishly kept the entire load for himself.
Later, the fat monk drank it all by himself, completely disregarding the feelings of the other two monks.
From then on, the conflicts among the three people became increasingly acute, and no one was willing to take the initiative to fetch water.
As the days passed, the water tank remained dry because no one had fetched water for a long time.
Gradually, the three monks had no water to drink.
Everyone was only concerned with reciting the scriptures in their own hands and beating their own wooden fish, as if everything around them had nothing to do with them.
Later on, the three monks even set their sights on the water bottle in front of the Bodhisattva, and scrambled to drink up all the water in the bottle.
Even so, no one was willing to get up and add new water to the water purification bottle.
Even if the flowers and plants in the courtyard gradually withered due to lack of water, they turned a blind eye and did not care.
As night falls, the mice come out to look for food.
They ran around the temple with impunity, stealing all kinds of items.
However, no monk was willing to step forward to drive away these hateful rats. As a result, the rats became more and more arrogant and their behavior became more rampant.
Finally one night, a mouse accidentally knocked over the candlestick, causing a raging fire.
Faced with the sudden fire, the three monks woke up as if from a dream and realized that they could not go on like this.
So they put aside their prejudices against each other and worked together to put out the fire.
After some hard work, the fire was finally put out.
After experiencing this disaster, the three monks deeply realized the importance of unity and cooperation.
They also understand that only by helping each other can life become better.
From then on, the three monks put aside their past grudges and started working together.
They took turns fetching water every day, and the water tank was soon full.
Not only that, all affairs within the temple also returned to their former order.
A peaceful and tranquil scene once again appeared before people’s eyes.”
Suddenly, Zhao Wei suddenly had an epiphany. He said with joy, "Master Daoyan, I finally understand!"
It was like a bright light that penetrated the fog in Zhao Wei's heart.
Then he excitedly continued to explain his understanding, "You want to use this story to warn me: if a group can unite as one, it can bring together the advantages of each member and condense into an indestructible and powerful force.
In this way, even those difficulties and obstacles that are difficult to overcome by one's own strength can be easily overcome. "
Having said this, Zhao Wei paused for a moment.
As if he was organizing his thoughts, he added: "Besides, as a team, we must know how to cooperate and collaborate with each other.
After all, in many situations, a large number of people is not necessarily a good thing.
Sometimes too many people may lead to chaos and disorder, thus reducing work efficiency. "
Then Zhao Wei changed the subject and his tone became more determined.
“However, the benefits of cooperation go far beyond this.
It can not only accumulate tremendous power, but also enlighten our thinking.
While broadening everyone's horizons, it can also inspire endless creativity.
At the same time, it helps to cultivate our compassion, altruism, and the spirit of selfless dedication.
These qualities are vital and indispensable to everyone.”
Finally, Zhao Wei emphasized earnestly: "The most important point is that we must not be too lazy and idle in dealing with people.
We should bravely shoulder our own responsibilities and vigorously promote the spirit of unity and cooperation.
Only in this way can we continue to make progress and ultimately achieve greater success.”
After saying this, Zhao Wei bowed deeply to Master Daoyan to express his sincere gratitude for his teachings.
Yao Guangxiao nodded slightly and said in agreement: "This thought-provoking story highlights the vital importance of management."
He paused and continued, “For any organization, no matter what stage it is in.
No matter what situation you are facing, management is the key.
At the same time, you also need to have a deep understanding and master the various functions of management.”
At this point, Yao Guangxiao emphasized, "The most critical point is to clearly understand the essence of management!"
