Chapter 105 Meal and Rest

Chapter 105 Meal and Rest
23:07pm.

Two blocks from the West Canyon Police Station.

York continued to report to the intercom that he was having a meal and taking a break, then parked the car on the street and walked towards a 24-hour convenience store with Kino.

"This is the restaurant where I often come for a midnight snack when I rest at night." York took a look at the surroundings.

This is a busy area. Although it is already 11 o'clock in the evening and there are not many people here, there are still some.

A few homeless people disappeared in the alleys, while a few passers-by carrying backpacks hurried past.

Nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

Gino opened his mouth and closed the question that hadn't been spoken yet, and he realized that York now knew what question he would ask.

He took a look at the convenience store which seemed empty because there was no one around. However, judging from the appearance, the convenience store was quite clean and had a fairly large area.

"It looks good." Kino said sincerely.

"The main thing is that here is what I want to eat." York said calmly, and walked in with the curious Kino.

"Also, during normal times, Ante and the others would come here to handle a meal."

The layout inside the convenience store is no different from the convenience stores we know. The front is filled with a wide variety of goods, and there are shelves connected to the floor-to-ceiling windows outside. The most eye-catching thing is that there are two tables and chairs in front of these shelves.

This is on the left, and on the right is the cashier counter, where a dark-skinned middle-aged man stands. As soon as he saw Yorks come in, he smiled and said.

"Officer York, it looks like you're on night duty again. Officer Ante and the others just left."

He smiled and looked at Jino who was following York, and then asked, "Your new partner?"

"Yeah." Yorks nodded and walked into the merchandise area with familiarity.

"Hello, my name is Andrew." The middle-aged man Andrew introduced himself first before Kino walked in, his face full of enthusiasm.

Because of his enthusiasm, Kino was stunned for a moment, but he reacted quickly, shook hands with the middle-aged man named Andrew, and then withdrew his hand.

"Hello, Kino."

Andrew maintained a warm smile, glanced at York's back as he was walking towards the depths, leaned towards Kino and whispered.

"Honestly, you're the fourth partner of Officer York I've ever met."

Kino raised his eyebrows, remembering what he heard in the locker room before going to work tonight.

"so?"

Andrew said seriously: "I sincerely hope you can hold on a little longer."

Hearing this, Kino also looked in the direction where York walked in. Over the height of the shelf, he could vaguely see York's head.

"I'll try my best," said Kino.

"Well, Officer Kino, how are you going to enjoy your midnight snack?" Andrew smiled.

"Officer York usually eats the Chinese fast food that I personally purchase."

Jinuo asked curiously, "Chinese fast food?"

"Yes, some kind of instant noodles that can be eaten by soaking in hot water." Andrew nodded.

"Okay, I'll try it too." Kino said, and at Andrew's signal, he walked towards the shelf where Yorks was.

After passing through several shelves filled with various goods, Jinuo came to the area where Yorkshi was and saw the goods on the shelf in front of him. The packaging bags were all in Chinese, which he couldn't understand, but through the similar goods next to them, he could roughly know what these were.

"Instant noodles?" Kino walked over to York who was still choosing and asked in surprise.

York glanced at him and picked up the bucket of noodles from above. Familiar Chinese words were reflected on the surface of the noodles: White Elephant Soup Delicious Noodles. He quite likes this flavor recently.

The biggest advantage of this series of instant noodles is just as its name suggests. After drinking the soup, it feels like you are not eating instant noodles, but a bowl of noodles cooked with rich broth.

"Do you want to try it?" York looked at the hesitant Kino and asked.

In fact, the Free State itself is one of the countries with a developed fast food culture. You can see many fast foods in supermarkets and convenience stores, such as instant hamburgers, instant eggs and fried chicken. You only need to buy and heat them up to eat.

So to some extent, the people of the free country are more keen on these high-calorie, stomach-filling convenience foods rather than instant noodles which can only provide a temporary relief.

Therefore, this also shows that Yorks is not actually that hungry, but needs some energy to make up for the consumption tonight.

"Can you recommend one to me?" Kino hesitated. He was cautious about food he was not familiar with.

"Then we have the tomato beef noodles in the bucket." Yorks gave some random instructions according to Kino's taste and left Kino alone.

Kino tilted his head, stretched out his hand somewhat uncomfortably, followed York's recommendation, took the bucket of noodles with a tomato pattern from the shelf, and followed York's footsteps.

But after he paid, with the help of the boss Andrew, he took the already soaked bucket of noodles to the temporary dining area, sat down with York and started eating, and he felt it was very fresh.

The noise of drinking soup and eating noodles made York couldn't help but watch a few times and shook his head.

It was just the first time they had eaten it, and he had introduced it to Angte and the others before, but in the end they returned to their original fast food way, which was a cup of Coke and a sandwich or a hamburger.

All we can say is that the food cultures of China and the Free Country are different and the differences are huge.

Of course, he doesn't eat bucket noodles all the time. He only eats it when he wants to drink some hot soup. Although it is not nutritious, it is also hot.

........................

Bucket noodles only take a few mouthfuls and it doesn't take long for them to finish. In a few minutes, they finished eating. After cleaning up, they said goodbye to Andrew and returned to the Explorer patrol car.

"York, I think I roughly know why you like to be a patrolman?" Kino said to York while fastening his seat belt.

York picked up the intercom, glanced at him and said calmly, "Why?"

He doesn’t even know, how could this guy know?

"Because I can come into contact with all kinds of people and things every day, and I can get to know more different people, like Andrew." Kino's voice was a little sincere.

“It seems like this feeling is addictive.”

Hearing this, Yorks smiled but said nothing, as if he agreed with Kino's words, and spoke into the intercom.

"10-A-11, resume patrol."

"Roger that!"

After hearing the response from the dispatch center, York still left his answer before stepping on the accelerator and leaving the spot.

"Maybe you are right. I like to see the world with my own eyes."

Jino shrugged proudly: "I knew it."
