Chapter 17 Arrest
Kino was stunned. Yorks didn't bother to care what he thought and looked at the two people who appeared at the door.
One was naturally the man with the racial talent before, and the other looked to be the landlord he mentioned.
But the landlord, who looked very thin, had an untidy beard, and his hair and upper body were wet, actually came out wearing only a bath towel.
This shows that the landlord is so careless that when the tenants upstairs and downstairs are arguing, or even when it comes to calling the police, he will go take a shower first.
What York found interesting was that this tall and thin landlord had two Chinese characters tattooed on his naked upper body.
A word he was very familiar with: idiot.
York smiled in his heart. Just from here, he could feel the strong style of free America, absurd yet free.
"Officer, you can ask the owner of this house whether the situation is really as I said." The young man with racial talent came out and said, pointing to the landlord who had water stains on his face.
"he is the one."
Yorks nodded and looked at the landlord who had the two Chinese characters "Shabi" tattooed on both shoulders.
Noticing York's gaze, the landlord, who was only wearing a bath towel, smiled awkwardly.
"Excuse me, officer, I was just in the shower."
"It's okay. Please tell me what's going on." York said calmly, holding the holster of the single-action revolver with his right hand, and gestured to the man with racial talent.
"When he said he was going to knock on the door, were you there too?"
"Yes, officer, I went up with them." At this point, the landlord with a tattoo of a bad guy suddenly became talkative, and he expressed his dissatisfaction in a somewhat agitated manner.
Yorks concluded one thing from his endless but meaningless words.
The landlord was very dissatisfied with the female tenant upstairs, the middle-aged woman who had just called the false police and cursed.
Because just as the man with racial talent said, the middle-aged woman living upstairs makes a lot of noise every day, which greatly affects the life downstairs.
In addition to this, she also made the room dirty and messy, but that’s not all, the important thing is that the middle-aged woman didn’t pay the rent.
"When we went up to knock on the door, it was unlocked, so we knocked and the door opened naturally. We were all very surprised, but she kept scolding us and told us to shut up, "I'm going to shoot you, I'm going to stab you with a knife."
The landlord kept talking, waving his hands in front of him, as if his words would have no power if he didn't move them.
When York heard this, he glanced at Kino who was listening attentively and continued to ask.
"So she actually pulled out a gun and threatened you guys?"
The landlord spread his hands and said, "That's not the case."
York continued to ask: "Where is the knife?"
"No." The landlord shook his head:
"She just kept scolding me. She kept saying, 'I'm going to kill you. I'm going to find someone to kill you.'"
"OK." After hearing this, York felt that the evidence was sufficient and spoke.
"You can go back and take a shower."
"Okay, officer. I'll go take a shower. It's so cold when I come out." The landlord said with a charming smile.
York waved his hand and said, "Go, there is nothing for you to do now."
The landlord turned and left, looking quite cold. When he reached the stairs near the door, he looked up and left a word.
"Oh, look at what she has done. She should move out. She is difficult to communicate with and won't pay the rent."
York's mouth twitched, and it sounded like he was hinting at something.
"Take me to where she lives." York said to the man who had his own racial talent.
"Okay! Officer!" The man was excited when he heard this and led the way directly in front. York followed behind with Gino and walked into the door.
As soon as he entered the door, York discovered that the stairs leading to the second floor were on the right side of the door.
There was a door on the left, which was the room the landlord entered, and there was another door in the middle, which was the room the man lived in. From the gap in the door, Yorks did see the man's family.
A woman and two girls.
"She lives on the second floor, officer. Her apartment is even bigger than mine." The man seemed to see York's expression and complained while pointing to the stairs leading to the second floor.
"Ah."
Yorks gave Kino a look and started walking up the stairs.
However, as soon as he reached the closed door on the second floor, Yorks inexplicably smelled a faint odor of garbage, like the rotten smell of food that had not been cleaned for a long time.
Yorks frowned. Although he had anticipated that the environment where the drug ghosts lived might be worse than he imagined, the situation inside might really be extremely dirty and messy now.
"lapd."
Yorks knocked on the closed door in front of him without relaxing his brows.
"Ma'am, please open the door."
However, the thinking logic of the poisonous ghost is probably really different from that of ordinary people, and a shrill cry came from inside.
"You're yelling at me! I don't like it!"
Yorks had a calm expression. He had encountered so many things, some of which were even more outrageous, bizarre and fantastic than this.
"This is not a question of whether to yell or not, nor is it a question of whether you like it or not. Ma'am, please open the door and come outside to talk to us."
"Why? I don't want to talk to you!" The middle-aged woman's voice was indeed very unpleasant, sharp and full of aggression.
"Because I want to know what happened and the truth of the matter." York's voice was steady and trustworthy.
This made Jino blink and raise his eyebrows.
After these words were spoken, there was silence for a while.
"Do you want to hear what I say first?" This sentence was accompanied by the sound of the door opening.
With a click, a wrinkled middle-aged woman who hadn't taken a shower for many days opened the door and appeared at the crack of the door.
"I do, but you need to talk to us first when you are at the police station, ma'am." Yorks held the door with his hand out and said calmly.
This time, the middle-aged woman knew she had been tricked and pushed the door hastily. However, she was completely unable to withstand York's strength, which was as heavy as the sea, and the door was pushed open by this force.
The middle-aged woman was stunned, but also woke up because of this.
"No! No! I don't want to go to jail!"
She screamed and suddenly ran towards the door on the other side.
York did not do anything immediately. Instead, he looked at the dirty and messy room, covering his nose with his left hand and keeping his right hand on the holster of his single-action revolver. He looked at the food remnants that had not been cleaned up in the kitchen and the pile of garbage on the table, as well as the dirt on the floor and the discarded syringes and tin foil, and cursed inwardly.
"It's so damn dirty!"
After cursing, he turned around and looked at Kino who was still in a daze at the door, and cursed with a smile.
"What are you still standing there for? Rookie, it's your turn now. Show me what you can do, or get out of here right now."
