After listening to the Master’s explanation, Xiaolong, Xiaohu and Xiaolan felt that the question of Nirvana was too profound.

Everyone seemed to understand but not quite, and all looked bewildered.

It seems that studying Buddhism requires hard work and cannot be perfunctory.

However, these three people also roughly understood that their senior brother had inadvertently raised such a question about Nirvana, which must have stumped Qing Wu of the White Horse Temple.

Apart from anything else, you can guess something from the surprised expression of Abbot Mingtong.

After a long while, Abbot Mingtong came back to his senses.

He looked at Abbot Sanzang and said with a wry smile:
"Abbot Sanzang, your disciple is truly a monster. I'm afraid that there is no monk in the world who can answer this question about Nirvana."

You should know that the question about Nirvana is about the method to lead all living beings to the other shore.

If someone could really give a perfect answer, he could almost become a Buddha or a patriarch, and establish a new sect.

From then on, Buddhism had no eight sects, but nine!

"This……"

At this moment, Qing Wuru was like an eggplant hit by frost, with an embarrassed look on his face.

He looked at Lin Xuan hesitantly, not knowing how to start.

He understands the Mahayana path.

But if we ask why the Pratyekabuddha Vehicle and the Ten Stages of Perfect Enlightenment, who both practice the Enlightenment Vehicle, are considered the Hinayana and the Mahayana respectively, we need to explain the true meaning of the Enlightenment Vehicle from the root. In this way, we will undoubtedly be able to clearly explain the source of Buddhism...

It's been so complicated and tangled that it gives me a headache just thinking about it.

Only a very wise, virtuous, and enlightened person can sort it out clearly.

It is true that Qingwu is intelligent and wise, but after all, he has not yet practiced Buddhism to that level.

So, after struggling for only one or two times, he gave up completely.

He was convinced by Lin Xuan and said:
"Mr. Lin, you have mastered the teachings of Tantric Buddhism and the Three Vehicles of Buddhism and are very proficient in their application. I am humbled by your question about Nirvana."

After saying this, Qingwu felt aggrieved.

He originally thought that he could easily win the debate on Buddhism with Lin Xuan and others.

And I had already promised my master last night.

Who knew that today Lin Xuan would ask him a question about Nirvana, which would make him doubt his life.

"Master... Master, I am not good enough in my skills and I have brought shame to you..."

Qingwu lowered his head, looking lost and frustrated.

Hearing this, Abbot Mingtong comforted him:

"Qing Wu, there is nothing to be ashamed of. Your Buddhist wisdom is well known to your master and the elders."

"Among his peers, he is already outstanding."

"Really...really?"

Qingwu didn't quite believe what his master said. He was skeptical.

Before Abbot Mingtong could speak, Abbot Sanzang on the side laughed first and said:
"it is true!"

to be frank.

Abbot Sanzang didn't know how to answer Lin Xuan's question about Nirvana.

Seeing Qing Wu's shocked look, Lin Xuan also said:

"Master Qingwu, I was lucky to win. In terms of analyzing Tantric Buddhism, I am not as good as you."

As soon as he asked this question, he was stunned.

After all, Lin Xuan knew very well that he had taken advantage of a loophole.

Although he understood the Hinayana and Mahayana Buddhism, he had no idea where to start if he was asked to answer.

Strictly speaking, he is engaging in sophistry.

I'm afraid everyone present, except Xiaolong and the other two, can talk about the difference between Mahayana Buddhism and Hinayana Buddhism.

But the key is that there is only a difference in advantages and disadvantages between the two, neither is good or bad, and both are ways to become a Buddha.

If you want to answer Lin Xuan's question, you have to go back and explain why all living beings want to become Buddhas.

Tracing its source in this way, we will undoubtedly have to explore the method of transcendence and rebirth.

Therefore, it was because Abbot Mingtong and others understood this that they believed that Lin Xuan’s question was about Nirvana.

After Abbot Sanzang and Lin Xuan persuaded him successively, Qing Wu finally suppressed the look of tears that was about to fall.

Abbot Sanzang is the abbot of Shaolin Temple. He is a virtuous monk with profound Buddhist knowledge.

Even he thought that he was well versed in Buddhism and really stood out among the younger generation, so that must be true.

Needless to say, even this monster Lin Xuan admitted that he was not as good as himself in the study of Tantric Buddhism.

When he thought of this, Qingwu was no longer sad and his confidence increased.

Noticing the change in his character, Abbot Mingtong breathed a sigh of relief.

I'm really worried that this little disciple will lose an argument and not only cry but also feel frustrated.

……

After the contest was over, Abbot Mingtong went to get the "Ninwang Protecting the King of Prajnaparamita Sutra" and the "Nagarjuna Bodhisattva's Enlightenment Picture".

Not long after, he brought a Buddhist scripture and a Buddha picture. When Abbot Mingtong solemnly spread the Buddhist scripture on the long table, Abbot Sanzang and the elders of the White Horse Temple could not help but stand up and stick their heads out to take a look at the scripture.

"The King's Prajnaparamita Sutra", also known as "The King's Prajnaparamita Sutra".

This sutra is divided into two volumes and eight chapters.

1. Introduction; 2. Contemplation of the Tathagata; 3. Bodhisattva Practice; 4. The Two Truths…

It is an important scripture of Tantric Buddhism!

Before this, it had been kept in Daxingshan Temple, but now a rare rubbing was donated to White Horse Temple.

Abbot Mingtong was naturally cautious.

at the same time.

Qingwu also came over, holding his breath and reading the scripture carefully.

Although Xiaolong and the other two looked over curiously, they lost interest after just a few glances.

Because the three of them couldn't understand the scripture at all and it was like chewing wax.

Since Lin Xuan wanted to observe the "Picture of Nagarjuna Bodhisattva's Enlightenment of a Gāthā", he naturally wanted to study this Buddhist scripture as well.

He took a quick glance and found that its content was similar to the ideas expounded in Nagarjuna Bodhisattva's previous works "Madhyamaka-karika" and "Mahaprajnaparamita-sastra".

But here is more detail.

Especially the Bodhisattva's conduct, which pays attention to every detail and is well versed in Mahayana Buddhism.

After reading it, Lin Xuan no longer paid attention to the "Prajnaparamita Sutra of the King of Mercy".

Instead, he began to look at the painting of "Nagarjuna Bodhisattva's Enlightenment".

Abbot Mingtong opened the picture almost at the same time as he spread out the Buddhist scriptures.

With the precious "Prajnaparamita Sutra" in front of them, this picture of Bodhisattva seems less important to Abbot Mingtong and several elders of the White Horse Temple.

But in Lin Xuan's opinion, this picture is much more valuable than that Buddhist scripture.

At that moment, he came before the picture of the Bodhisattva and looked at it carefully.

I saw that there was a person painted in the picture of Bodhisattva.

That person had a bun on his head, and the light of wisdom was shining. His head was surrounded by nine dragon heads, each with a different look, some looking up, some looking majestic, and some looking down...

The person in the painting is naturally Bodhisattva Nagarjuna.

He was wearing a red cassock, with his hands in the preaching mudra. He sat on the altar in a dramatic posture, with beautiful flowers and plants all around him.

There are scriptures placed on the knees.

Behind his head is a circle of infinite and pure Buddha light that saves the world.

The whole body is filled with auspicious clouds.

When Lin Xuan looked directly at the painting, his soul trembled, as if he had really seen the majestic appearance of Nagarjuna Bodhisattva, sitting high in a pure land. A solemn feeling arose in his heart.

His mind gradually sank into the painting.

At the same time, every part of his body began to circulate the Dragon Elephant Subduing Demon Technique.

After only a hundred breaths, a loud dragon roar suddenly came from Lin Xuan's body, resounding throughout the entire Buddhist hall!
Everyone was startled when they heard the cry.

He quickly looked towards Lin Xuan.

At this moment, Lin Xuan had already closed his eyes, and a ball of light golden true qi rose around his body.

Seeing this, Xiaolan frowned and asked:
"Master, what happened to Brother?"

"Why is there a dragon roar in his body?!"

"..."

Abbot Sanzang said, "Brother, you must have gained some enlightenment from reading the "Picture of Bodhisattva Nagarjuna's Enlightenment to His Gāthās" and are now in retreat."

"Retreat?"

Upon hearing this, Abbot Mingtong and others were stunned and felt it was incredible.

This kid's understanding is too exaggerated?

Looking at a picture of Bodhisattva can give you some insights.

Abbot Sanzang explained to Abbot Mingtong:

"To be honest with Abbot Mingtong, my disciple has practiced the Dragon Elephant Subduing Demons Technique, which is in line with this Bodhisattva diagram."

"I see."

Abbot Mingtong nodded slightly.

He knew that he couldn't be disturbed during the retreat, so he suggested:
"Then let's go to another place and study this Buddhist scripture."

After saying this, Abbot Mingtong put away the "Ninno King Protecting the King's Prajna Paramita Sutra" and led everyone out of the Buddhist hall and walked towards a side hall.

Before leaving, Abbot Sanzang glanced at Lin Xuan and felt worried for him.

Although he told Abbot Mingtong that Lin Xuan practiced the "Dragon Elephant Subduing Demons Technique", he did not specify that he was in seclusion this time in order to practice the second soul.

If I really said it, I'm afraid Abbot Mingtong and others would think it was too rash.
